If a policyholder asks you to delete an auto or suspend coverage for a period of time because the vehicle isn’t being used, how should you respond?
There are a number of reasons the policyholder may give for wanting to take this action, including, “Business is bad right now and the vehicles aren’t being used,” or, “My business is seasonal and the vehicles won’t be used during the off-season.” Suspending or deleting coverage on a vehicle even though it is still owned is not a good idea for your policyholder. To see why this is the case and learn about a possible alternative to save your customer some money, see the new BAP technical report Suspending Coverage on the BAP.
