Q. One of our insured’s ran into the corner of their house and caused damage to the house. Will their PAP cover the damage?

A. It depends on whether or not they rent their house or own their house. The PAP regina excludes property damage to property owned or being transported by that insured.

However, the care custody control exclusion that excludes property damage to property rented to, used by or in the care of that insured, has an exception to the exclusion that it does not apply to property damage to a residence or private garage. So, if one runs into the house or garage of a rental they have coverage if they own it, no coverage on the PAP.
